Abstract Submission Requirements – 18th WCBP & 5th GCBP 2026 (Jaipur, India)

General Principles

  • Language
    • All abstracts must be submitted in English.
    • Submission in other languages will not be accepted.
  • Originality
    • Abstracts must present original, unpublished work not previously published or presented at another meeting.
    • If an earlier related presentation exists, the current abstract should present new data or additional insights beyond the prior disclosure. WFSBP Congress 2026+1
  • Registration Requirement
    • Presenting authors must be registered participants of the Congress.
    • Acceptance of an abstract typically obligates the presenter to register and attendwfsbp.org
  • Conflict of Interest / Disclosure
    • Authors must disclose any financial conflicts of interest as part of the submission process. wfsbp.org
  • Publication Rights
    • By submitting an abstract, authors consent to publication of the abstract in the Congress materials (online and print). wfsbp.org
  • Author Agreement
    • The submitting (presenting) author confirms that all co-authors agree to the submission. wfsbp.org

Abstract Structure and Format

Symposia and Workshops

  • Duration: 90 minutes including Q&A. wfsbp.org
  • Symposia
    • Theme-based session with up to 4 presenters from different countries. wfsbp.org
    • Include an overall symposium description with title, objectives, and structured rationale.
  • Workshops
    • Interactive format focused on skill building/training with up to 2 presenters plus chair/co-chairgcbp-net.com
    • Submission includes workshop theme and educational objectives.

Requirements for each symposium or workshop:

  • Title of session.
  • Clear description of theme and learning objectives.
  • Names, affiliations, e-mails of all presenters.
  • Each presenter may also be required to submit an individual abstract for review. gcbp-net.com

Poster Presentations

  • Purpose: Present original research or case reports in biological psychiatry.
  • Structure:
    • Abstract must include Title, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusionsgcbp-net.com
  • Word Limit: Maximum 300 words (unless otherwise specified by the Organizing Committee). gcbp-net.com
  • Presenter Presence: Presenting author must be present during the poster session when posters are scheduled. gcbp-net.com

Free Communications / Free Paper Presentations

  • Format: Oral presentation of 10–15 minutes + Q&A or integrated into a session of short oral reports. gcbp-net.com

    Abstract Text Guidelines

    • Abstracts should be structured to include the following sections:
      • Title: Concise and descriptive.
      • Background/Objectives: Clear scientific or clinical rationale.
      • Methods: Design, subjects/samples, measures, and analytic approach.
      • Results: Key findings with numbers/statistics where appropriate.
      • Conclusions: Interpretation and implications of the findings.
    • Do not include author identifiers in the body text unless required by the submission platform.

      Submission Process

      • Online submission: All abstracts must be submitted via the official Congress submission portal.
        • Email submissions are not accepted. wfsbp.org
      • Deadline: Abstract submission extended till 19th February. WFSBP Congress 2026
      • Confirmation: Authors receive an abstract ID and confirmation upon successful submission.

      Post-Acceptance Requirements

      • Presenting author registration must be completed soon after acceptance.
      • Final abstract text cannot be edited after submission unless explicitly permitted.
      • Presenters should be available to present during assigned session times.

      Evaluation Criteria

      • The Scientific Committee will evaluate abstracts based on:
        • Scientific quality and originality.
        • Clarity of aims and methodology.
        • Relevance to biological psychiatry.
        • Contribution to the Congress scientific program.
